Katharine McPhee’s Cheating Scandal

katharine_mcphee_cheating

Katharine Mcphee in Smash. (NBC)

Katharine McPhee was photographed making out with her former Smash director Michael Morris — even though they’re both married.

-I’m loving the minimal makeup in Jennifer Lawrence‘s new Dior ads. Only 23-year-olds can turn “shiny” into “dewy.”

-Radar Online is rounding up the 30 “scandalous” things Vanity Fair might say about Gwyneth Paltrow, but it’s nothing gossip veterans haven’t heard before.

-Showtime has renewed Homeland (despite the uproar surrounding last week’s ridiculous twist), as well as Masters of Sex.

Melissa McCarthy has spoken out on the Elle cover controversy, insisting it was her decision to wear the coat. It sucks that people assume every photo of her has to stand for something…

-Vulture just released their second annual Most Valuable Stars list. Just as interesting are the 10 stars who fell off the list this year.

Jake Gyllenhaal is looking mad skinny for his next role.  I just saw him in Prince of Persia (again) because for some stupid reason, I *cannot* flip channels whenever I see it on TV even though that movie is ridiculous. I blame his arms.

Jake is looking much better on the cover of GQ Australia.

-If it was anyone else I’d think this was crass and ageist, but damn if I’m not charmed by Betty White’s spoof of Miley Cyrus‘ ‘Wrecking Ball’ video.

-I want Ruth Wilson (Alice!) to be a giant star, but this dress isn’t helping matters.

Jeremy Renner is wearing a ring, making everyone wonder if those earlier wedding rumours were true.

Arcade Fire performed on The Colbert Report last night, reminding me why I like them so much better when I close my eyes.

These photos of the house that Robert Pattinson is selling surprised to me. It’s so old-fashioned and imposing.

Lupita Nyong’o was the best thing about 12 Years a Slave, and now she’s turning into the best thing about award season’s red carpets.

Reese Witherspoon has apparently reached the stage where she can laugh about her drunken arrest.

Sarah Silverman just posted the entire first episode of her failed NBC pilot on YouTube.

Keanu Reeves did a two-and-a-half hour Reddit AMA and he was all kinds of charming. There was even a Licks shoutout!

-Private Practice’s KaDee Strickland and Roswell’s Jason Behr just welcomed a son, Atticus. It still scrambles my brain that they’re married.

Jimmy Fallon and Alec Baldwin revealed their secret cop show past on last night’s Late Night.

-According to Adam Scott, the Parks and Rec schedule shuffle isn’t a big deal and we all need to chill the eff out.

Julia Roberts heaped praise on her husband during last night’s Hollywood Film Awards.

-I usually love Anna Kendrick‘s style, but this top is doing her no favours. As the Fug Girls point out, it’s giving her a “boob moustache.”

-The second trailer for Zac Efron and Seth Rogen‘s Neighbors has landed.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Reunite – A Lot

david-duchovny-gillian-anderson

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in Entertainment Weekly’s reunion issue.

*** TECHNICAL NOTE: This blog is moving to www.scandalsheet.ca. Please update your bookmarks! ***

-My inner 19-year-old is in love with all of the press and appearances David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have made in the past week. From their Reddit AMA (in bed!) to their New York Comic Con panel to their interview in EW’s reunion issue, I’m happily drowning in Mulder/Scully overload. The fact that Vulture referred to them as a “rumoured real-life couple” put me over the edge. I’m not even going to try to verify that, lest it be dream-crushingly false…

-Speaking of EW’s reunion issue, this video of the cast of Mystic Pizza is classic. I love the look on everyone else’s faces when Julia Roberts says she’s the most “innately happy” of all of them.

-In other EW reunion news, Amy Poehler and Adam Scott interviewed Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers for the online edition.

Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Glee will end next season, and the reworked series finale will ‘honour’ Finn.

-Glee’s Chris Colfer just scored a massive book deal that will see him publish two more ‘Land of Stories’ novels and a picture book.

Kate Moss (who’s now the fashion editor at British Vogue. No, really) has a modeling contract that stipulates she gets a cigarette break every 15 minutes.

-God bless FunnyorDie’s new video called “The Internet’s Problem With TV Wives, Explained.”

Michael Bay was attacked by two brothers on the Hong Kong set of his new movie. The director said one of the guys attacked him with an air conditioner, and that “it was like a Zombie in Brad Pitt’s movie World War Z — he lifted seven guys up and tried to bite them.” Luckily, the police arrived before the air conditioner transformed.

Mischa Barton has opened up to People about her “full-on breakdown” in 2009.

Robert Pattinson says that the most attractive thing about a woman is the way she smells, which is kind of ironic because the first thing anyone asks me about RPattz is if he smells bad. (For the record, I didn’t smell anything, which is probably a good thing?)

-Meanwhile, this photo is supposed to prove how buff RPattz is getting. I don’t see it.

-I liked this interview with two longtime gossip columnists. I always thought Julia Roberts knew exactly how to play the game…

-Goddamit, Jake Gyllenhaal can even make a man bun work!

-Speaking of stupid styles, the biggest trend I saw in Europe was women wearing tights or pantyhose with Nikes (always Nikes, never another brand – and always super functional ones). My eye grapes still haven’t recovered.

-Also, all over Denmark there are really creepy billboards featuring Christopher Walken as part of this bizarre fashion campaign.

Blake Lively will play an ageless lady in The Age of Adaline.

-The breakup rumours surrounding the Jonas Brothers continue to heat up. They’ve deleted their Twitter account while a source tells People the rift is “uglier than you think.”

-Here’s the red band trailer for That Awkward Moment. Shirtless Michael B. Jordan!

Macklemore prank called a Craigslist scalper about Macklemore concert tickets.

Matthew McConaughey asked Tom Hanks for weight loss advice. Of course he did. If I had access to Tom Hanks, I’d ask his advice on EVERYTHING! “Tom, should I buy this dress?” “Tom, chunky or smooth peanut butter?”

-Remember that Vanity Fair story that Gwyneth Paltrow tried to squash? It’s so on!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have taken their sexting public. Bully for us.

-In “You’re Super Old” news, Eminem turns 41 today.

-Britney Spears wants James Franco to play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades. Blech!

-Elle is getting loads of backlash for their decision to wrap Melissa McCarthy in a big coat for their cover. I’m just pleasantly surprised they even put her on the cover.

-It looks like Miley Cyrus will be playing a naked silver alien in Future’s new ‘Real and True’ music video.

-Here’s a photo that fans of Buffy, Game of Thrones, Sherlock and Neil Gaiman will love.

-The Bad Lip Reading guys have topped themselves with this Game of Thrones clip.

Jessica Simpson and her fiancé are in Capri, where they’re reportedly getting ready to get hitched.

-Justin Bieber covers Metallica. Sadness ensues.

-Meanwhile, Selena Gomez cried in concert while performing a song about The Biebs.

-The trailer for Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, starring Ralph Fiennes, is so very Wes Anderson-y. I mean that in the best possible way.

Melissa McCarthy Gets Trimmed in The Heat Poster

melissa-mccarthy-photoshop

(20th Century Fox)

Melissa McCarthy is the latest victim of a Photoshop fail (again!), with her face apparently slimmed down and blurred for The Heat‘s UK poster. To be fair, the US poster is terrible as well, but at least Sandra Bullock also gets her share of air-brushing.

George Clooney recently joked about having a cosmetic procedure called “ball ironing” and now it’s actually a thing in L.A. spas. Lord, beer me strength.

-The Critic’s Choice Awards happened last night and I’m so thrilled that Tatiana Maslany won the Best Actress in a Drama trophy for her outstanding work on Orphan Black, I’m not even going to complain about the fact that The Big Bang Theory won Best Comedy. It was also a night filled with questionable style choices, including Michael Sheen’s new ‘stache.

-Things I can’t unsee now include this video of Gerard Butler cracking nuts with his ass while a German audience cheers him on.

-Also, Russell Crowe mastered an MJ-style crotch grab on Fallon last night.

Chris Brown may have to redo his community service because he didn’t properly complete it the first time around. And also because of karma.

Russell Brand told David Letterman he once became a mailman because he thought it would lead to lots of morning sex with housewives. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work out that way.

-Sources insist that Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard are just friends, meaning that the world makes sense once again.

Beyonce wrote a handwritten note to Serena Williams, as it’s as kickass and girl-power-affirming as you’d expect.

-Oh crap. Who let Amanda Bynes get a puppy?!

-I keep forgetting that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham are a thing. Maybe because separately they’re both kind of forgettable.

-See? This is the Justin Bieber we all know and love — the kid who thinks a boys’ night out should involve a trip to Disneyland. Show us more of that guy, JB.

Rachel Zoe is getting static for letting her son look like a girl because people have way too much time on their hands.

-Aw crap. M. Night Shyamalan just revealed that he ghost-wrote She’s All That, which is one of my favourite ’90s movies. I seriously don’t know how to process this.

-I have no idea why Lauren Conrad still has the power to command magazine covers, but at least she looks great on Marie Claire.

Kanye West just confirmed his new record will feature Daft Punk, Chief Keef, and Bon Iver, which makes me look forward to it, which then makes me hate myself.

-My opinion of Amy Adams‘ Man of Steel premiere dress changes with every photo I see of it.

-Both Man of Steel and The Purge are already getting sequels because Hollywood loves to beat dead horses, even if said horses have barely hit theatres.

-Not that Man of Steel isn’t getting great reviews. Critics have been mostly positive.

-Speaking of movies getting good reviews, This Is The End is (somewhat surprisingly) sitting pretty with 80% on RottenTomatoes.

-Meanwhile, the guys from This Is The End made a Real World spoofJay Baruchel FTW!

-The guy who plays Robb Stark on Game of Thrones rode the subway looking really dejected, which means he’d get along swimmingly with the GoT fandom right now.

Paris Jackson is expected to be released from the hospital by Friday because her family wants her to attend her cousin’s weekend wedding and, you know, PRIORITIES!

-I’m really digging NPR’s list of the 50 best songs of 2103 so far (but didn’t that Night Beds track come out last year?).

Conan O’Brien had George Takei on his show to hilariously explain how water is gay.

-I want this Breaking Bad print so much!

-Meanwhile, here’s our first look at Aaron Paul‘s new movie Need for Speed. I’m trying to be supportive because he’s my pretend boyfriend, but ugh.

Penn Badgley and Zoe Kravitz have reportedly split after two years of dating.

-I’ve spent a lot of time getting lost in Vulture‘s Best of TV lists this week. Here’s the year’s best visual moments, the best shows you missed, the best TV drunks, and the most improved show.

-It’s official: my decision to follow Sir Patrick Stewart‘s Twitter feed will never let me down.

Rihanna cuddled up to Victoria’s Secret model chanel iman for an Instagram pic.

-The new Lonely Island video features Diddy as Paul Rudd’s wingman. More importantly, Robyn! And Sarah Chalke wearing a strap-on!

Amy Poehler proves herself to be even more awesome by fangirling over Judy Blume.

Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Hudson attended Wal-Mart’s annual shareholder meeting, which is super depressing.

Seth Green wants to play Hans Solo in this Star Wars spoof.

-The new trailer for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug has landed. We get glimpses of Lost‘s Evangeline Lily, Pushing DaisiesLee Pace, returning character Orlando Bloom, and a whole bunch of other people I just can’t quite bring myself to care about.

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy Feel “The Heat”

sandra-bullock-melissa-mccarthy

-Does anyone else think The Heat stars Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy both look really weird on the cover of Parade?

-More details are emerging about Paris Jackson‘s alleged suicide attempt. Sources say she wasn’t serious, and may have been lashing out because she wasn’t allowed to go to a Marilyn Manson concert, or possibly because she feared having to testify in her late father’s wrongful death lawsuit. There’s also some talk this wasn’t her first attempt.

Liam Hemsworth (or at least his publicist) has joined Twitter (no doubt because he was itching to respond to Amanda Bynes‘ flirt-Tweets – after all, they have a cozy past).

-Meanwhile, Liam shares some steamy scenes with Amber Heard in the new trailer for Paranoia.

Vince Gilligan says he cried while writing the finale episode of Breaking Bad. Something tells me I’m going to experience some serious PTSD when this show ends.

-Speaking of Breaking Bad, as part of his charity monologue series, Samuel L. Jackson performed Walter White‘s “I am the one who knocks” speech.

Angelina Jolie wore a Brad Pitt-designed bracelet, proving to the world that Brad Pitt should stop designing bracelets.

-Good on Jennifer Lawrence: she’s not only going to star in the upcoming adaptation of The Rules of Inheritance, she’ll also produce it.

Richard Branson claims Justin Bieber has already booked a trip to space on the Virgin Galactic. Can he just stay there for a while?

-I like this article, in which Lena Dunham analyzes three episodes of Girls. Her response to the Patrick Wilson casting controversy is great: “Really? Can you not imagine a world in which a girl who’s sexually down for anything and oddly gregarious pulls a guy out of his shell for two days?”

-Of course the guy who plays Jamie Lannister on Game of Thrones says his weirdest fan encounter happened in Toronto. Of course.

-Meanwhile, George RR Martin really enjoyed watching the fan reactions to the last episode on Conan.

-In other late night talk show fun, I loved Fallon‘s ragtime version of “I Wanna Sex You Up.”

-You know that really old Lassegg video that went viral a few years ago? Idris Elba just recreated it, wig and all.

-Speaking of recreations, Adam Scott talks about teaming up with Amy Poehler for his latest TV theme song re-enactment.

Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger can’t even keep their hands off each other at the grocery store.

-If you want to keep liking Jonah Hill, you’re probably going to want to skip Rolling Stone‘s interview with the cast of This Is the End, because he comes off like a humourless pill.

-The great thing about Joss Whedon‘s Much Ado About Nothing being released soon is that we’re seeing tons of interviews with him. Here he talks about his new movie’s similarities with Buffy, and here he pretty much says that he won’t do The Avengers 2 without Robert Downey Jr.

Russell Brand talks about his divorce in the new issue of Esquire, saying his marriage to Katy Perry failed because they both had “lots of options.” Hmmm.

-Magazine buyers would rather buy issues featuring TV actresses on the cover than movie stars.

-Speaking of TV actresses, Jessica Pare is amused by everyone’s Mad Men theories surrounding her fate.

Nicole Richie is calling out a paparazzo for allegedly dropping his own daughter in order to snap a photo of her. Yikes!

Nicole Kidman posed with ex-boyfriend Lenny Kravitz at the CMT Music Awards last night.

George Clooney is shilling for his new tequila company. Still hot, though.

-Here’s the red-band trailer for The To Do List, starring Audbrey Plaza, Bill Hader, Rachel Bilson and Andy Samberg. I’m cautiously optimistic about this one.

Watch Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy Team Up in The Heat

-You need to stop whatever you’re doing and watch Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in the trailer for their new buddy cop flick, The Heat. Seriously, even if you’re a doctor in the middle of an open heart surgery. I think your patient will totes understand after seeing this awesomeness.

Michael Fassbender gave Ryan Gosling a shoulder massage and then my brain exploded.

50 Cent was all kinds of cute and flirty on QVC.

Ben Affleck thinks the media treated him “worse than Scott Peterson” during his Bennifer years.

Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel has West Nile Virus following her stint on Survivor. You take the good, you take the bad…

-Well this is probably the most terrifying photo of Nicole Kidman you’ll ever see.  Bite down on something hard before clicking.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted together at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. What does it all mean?

-Whatever’s happening, it hasn’t stopped Justin from removing references to Selena from the “Beauty and a Beat” lyrics.

Lea Michele says that dog pee once ruined her spray tan.

-Wait, so now Taylor Swift is dating Harry Styles from One Direction? I need a flow chart to keep up with this girl’s love life.

-This might be the best caption to ever appear on Suri’s Burn Book (and possibly every photo ever).

-I’ve got nothing but love for Kristen Stewart‘s leather shorts. But then she completely lost me by wearing this gold mess.

Tina Fey may wear pyjamas to host the Golden Globes, because she’s comprised of 100% awesomeness.

-Um, does the outfit Jennifer Aniston wore last night remind anyone else of the prom dress Kelly Taylor wore on 90210?

Karl Lagerfeld does not seem impressed at meeting Frank Ocean.

James Franco has ruined sex scenes forever for Vanessa Hudgens.

-Speaking of James, he directed R.E.M’s new video, which features Lindsay Lohan posing for Terry Richardson. (I didn’t think one sentence could possibly include so many terrible things, but there you have it.)
