Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Got Secret Married!

Leighton Meester in Gossip Girl

-Congrats to Leighton Meester and Adam Brody: they tied the knot in a secret wedding. (I love that she had her bachelorette party at the drag bar chain Hamburger Mary’s.) Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen 4 eva!

-It’s still way too early to make a verdict about Jimmy Fallon as the new host of The Tonight Show (not that that’s stopping anyone), but he started out really strong last night with a dance number with Will Smith and a parade of celebrities handing him $100 bills (do you think Tina Fey and Lindsay Lohan talked about their Mean Girls days in the green room or just pretended they didn’t see each other?). The ratings were good, too.

Justin Timberlake appears on Fallon later this week. Is he going to drop some big news?

-To compete with Fallon’s first show, David Letterman had the cast of How I Met Your Mother read last night’s Top 10 list.

-Speaking of HIMYM, lots of hipsters feel betrayed by Greta Gerwig‘s decision to star in the sequel. But just think of all the artisanal hemp seed marmalade she can make with that CBS money!

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s rep denied a Whisper post about her having an affair with entertainment lawyer Kevin Yorn — and then asked what Whisper was. Classic.

Rihanna looks amazing in the latest issue of Vogue. Too bad her cover story barely talks about her at all.

-Way to go, Twihards. You’ve gone and scared poor Robert Pattinson away.

-Post-rehab Selena Gomez instagramed a photo of her drinking what looks like an alcoholic beverage, which I guess is ok after you’ve made your reps insist the treatment had nothing to do with substance abuse issues.

-Meanwhile, Selena‘s reportedly been spotted hanging out with Niall Horan from One Direction.

-Congrats to Josh Gad, who just welcomed his second daughter, and Jason Biggs, who has a new son.

Kristen Bell, who’s auctioning off a date to the Veronica Mars premiere, rages against the “f*cking crazy” paparazzi in a new interview.

-Speaking of Veronica Mars, Chris Lowell is sharing lots of artsy behind-the-scenes pics from the film shoot on his Instagram account.

-Pretty much everyone who’s anyone has remixed Beyonce’sDrunk in Love.”

-The couple that shills together, stays together? Ryan Reynolds joins wife Blake Lively as a L’Oreal spokesperson.

Marc Anthony says he and Jennifer Lopez‘s boyfriend are BFFs who braid each other’s hair and discuss their secret hopes and dreams.

-89-year-old Elaine Stritch showed up on the Today Show this morning and dropped an f-bomb on live TV. As if that wasn’t boss enough, she then followed it up with this tweet.

-It’s Kate Winslet vs. Shailene Woodley in this new clip from Divergent.

Matthew McConaughey is talking about the “McConaissance” on the cover of this week’s Variety.

-Meanwhile, is McConaughey this year’s Julia Roberts?

-Does any celebrity get Twitter better than Orlando Jones? I don’t think so.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s full engagement extravaganza aired on her reality show, in case you needed more video evidence of humanity’s downfall.

-It’s adorbs that everyone seems to believe that story about how Taylor Swift supposedly saved herself for Jake Gyllenhaal.

Victoria Beckham played coy when asked if she had her breast implants removed.

Rebel Wilson and Ellen Degeneres showed off their terrible rap skills on Ellen’s show.

-Sundance has been on a roll lately when it comes to showcasing really amazing shows (Top of the Lake, The Returned, Rectify), so I’m intrigued by their new drama Red Road. You can watch the first 12 minutes here.

-Check out The National’s new video for “I Need My Girl,” and listen to Beck‘s new album stream here.

-Wait, so Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez are officially a couple now?

-There were so many beards at the BAFTA awards, you guys.

-A Bachelor contestant from Ottawa sounds surprisingly awesome — which is probably why she dropped out of the competition.

-Shameless, which has quietly been kicking ass this season, just got renewed by Showtime.

-Everyone’s in a tizzy about the 15-second teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m still not sold on this talking racoon thing, but hello’s Chris Pratt’s abs! He’ll be premiering the full trailer tonight on Kimmel (and is soliciting suggestions for secret signals).

Will Smith Pays Tribute To Uncle Phil

will-smith-james-avery

Will Smith just posted a tribute to James Avery. Ahem. Did the room just get really dusty all of the sudden?

Madonna posted a photo of her 13-year-old son posing with alcohol, and mommy bloggers were all “whutttt???” But Madonna has built her whole career on not giving a shit, so she’s fine with it.

-Ruh-roh. Those eco-friendly homes Brad Pitt‘s nonprofit rebuilt in New Orleans are now rotting.

Michael Muhney was reportedly fired from The Young and the Restless for groping a costar’s breasts. You’d think Sheriff Lamb would know better!

-Did Charlie Sheen marry a porn star?

Ian McKellan may have accidentally outed a couple of his Hobbit co-stars. Oopsie!

Justin Bartha just got married. I pity the fool who had to plan that bachelor party.

-Even though it would be sweet, sweet victory Jenny McCarthy haters (i.e. – the world) if those reports about her revealing her son doesn’t actually have autism were true, she’s denying them.

Craig Robinson (aka The Office’s Darryl) just got an NBC sitcom order.

Sandra Bullock said that she and Julia Roberts have “shared custody” over George Clooney. I know it was just a joke but I’m going to go ahead and believe that, thankyouverymuch.

-I like Emily Blunt as a blonde.

Idris Elba tweeted a dirty joke this weekend and the world collectively swooned.

Cameron Diaz is on her book tour and the whole damn thing is pretty insufferable. She’s the reason I spent a lot of time swearing at my TV this morning while she touted her recipe for oatmeal with ponzu sauce and said crap like “I don’t use the word ‘diet’ because that implies deprivation.” Blech!

Shia LaBeouf is a jerk who deserves to be called out for his Twitter antics. I just wish it was by someone more credible than Lena Dunham.

-Breaking news: Demi Moore‘s young boyfriend likes young people things like the interwebs.

Justin Bieber is posting (old) photos of Selena Gomez on Instagram with mushy captions.

-I really like what Amy Adams is wearing. (Or maybe it’s just because I saw American Hustle yesterday and am grateful for any outfit that doesn’t expose her clavicle.)

-The first episode of Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s TV show is on YouTube.

Ariana Grande and Adrian Grenier have sort of similar names so everyone assumes they’re dating, but she says she has no idea who he is.

-I appreciate the level of perfection Meryl Streep and Margo Martindale appear to be striving for with their selfies.

Ke$ha is in rehab for an eating disorder, which might have something do to with the fact her dickweed producer once called her “a f**king refrigerator.”

-This promo for “Up Close with Tig Notaro” is freaking me out, but I couldn’t turn it off.

Kellan Lutz just denied that he’s dating Miley Cyrus. I wonder if she made him do it?

-Is the Queen forcing Prince Harry to shave his beard? Noooooo!

-A new trailer for House of Cards’ second season has landed. I still hate this show.

-Meanwhile, new promos have landed for Seth Meyers‘ and Jimmy Fallon‘s new shows.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her fam are ringing in the new year on a beach.

-It looks like Emma Roberts and Evan Peters might be engaged.

-It turns out that renting your apartment to Axl Rose is not a terrible idea after all.

-Well, this is all kinds of amazing. The cast and crew of The Good Wife made a music video for “Thicky Trick,” the song that was at the centre of the trial on last night’s episode.

Justin Bieber Hangs with “Uncle Will”

justin-bieber-will-smith

Will Smith poses with Justin Bieber. (Photo: instagram.com/p/dAu7UPgvn0/)

Justin Bieber posted a photo with Will Smith, who he called “Uncle Will.” Anyone else hoping Smith adopts him? You’d never see Jaden peeing in a bucket.

-Also in need of an intervention: Robert Pattinson, who’s reportedly been hanging out with Mischa Barton a lot. What. The. Hell.

-Sadness: Lisa Robin Kelly from That ’70s show has died. The actress voluntarily checked herself into rehab this past week, but went into cardiac arrest late last night — the eve of her 43rd birthday.

Kim Kardashian was photographed for the first time since giving birth. She looks normal, makeup-free and regular person-shaped, which makes me think this wasn’t a staged photo opp.

-Fox and NBC are reportedly in a bidding war for a new comedy by Tina Fey set at a newly coed college.

Will Arnett is dating the ex-wife of Billy Joel. Could you imagine dating someone who was once married to the awesomeness that is Amy Poehler? I think I’d spend  a lot of time trying to convince them to reconcile.

-Now all those people who were complaining about Gwyneth Paltrow‘s behaviour at a recent authors’ event are back-pedalling.

-Glee’s Ryan Murphy says they’ve changed their mind about Cory Monteith‘s character dying from a drug overdose. Thank god.

-I keep forgetting that Robin Wright is dating Ben Foster. And then I remember and mentally high-five her.

-In his new edition of Lie Witness News, Jimmy Kimmel asks people how they feel about Oprah‘s (fake) Oscar nomination for The Butler.

-A new teaser for Homeland has landed. I call this one “Claire Danes’ Crazy Eyes.”

-I’m not sure how I feel about the kid who plays Sally on Mad Men starring in Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic adaptation. Hasn’t she seen enough for one year?

-What if Breaking Bad were shot like The Wire? This awesome montage gives us an idea.

-Following his Reddit AMA, Aaron Paul hosted the inaugural Bitchie Awards, handing out “bitches” for the best questions.

Bill Nighy says he turned down the opportunity to be the new Doctor Who, even though he’s pretty much the only person who could get me to watch it.

-Has Rachel McAdams found a new man?

-I hate hate hate the dress, but otherwise Calista Flockhart is looking great these days!

-Speaking of ugly dresses, Jennifer Aniston strayed from her usual black and wore floral. Points for trying, though.

Aniston was back in black in Berlin. What’s happening with the hair swoop thing that she’s been doing?

-Yet another R. Kelly x Phoenix track has been dropped.

Cate Blanchett looks insanely good in her new Armani ad.

-Sexy sexypot Miguel was arrested for DUI.

-Someday soon before I have to pick my TIFF movies (next week!), I’m going to go through all of the festival trailers. First up is the one for Therese, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac and Jessica Lange.

George Clooney and Matt Damon’s Snowball Fight

george-clooney-matt-damon

George Clooney and Matt Damon in Ocean’s Twelve. (Warner Bros.)

George Clooney and Matt Damon had a snowball fight and…oops, my ovaries just exploded.

-I kind of love that Will Smith just admitted the reason he dropped out of Django Unchained was not actually “scheduling conflicts” but because he wasn’t playing the lead. If only all actors could be so ego-honest.

Liam Hemsworth was spotted at Miley Cyrus’ house. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!? Oh wait. I don’t care. Carry on.

Aaron Paul just won the internet by Instagramming an adorable photo of him as a little kid.

David Beckham lifted up his shirt to show off his tattoo in China.  This is how peace treaties should start.

-I really enjoyed this “Let’s Have a TV Baby” skit. This was pretty much my thought process before I finally started watching The Wire, because I was sure it was going to consume my life (though, oddly, it hasn’t yet. I’m on season 2 and it’s still a bit of a slog. Am I broken?!)

-This is a bit long, but NY Magazine‘s feature on what went down behind the scenes at the Today Show during the Ann Curry debacle is a juicy read.

-Someone sent Jared Leto an ear in the mail. It doesn’t surprise me. I saw his doc at TIFF last year and the fandom in that theatre was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. (And I like some pretty geeky shit!)

-Apparently, this is what Madonna looks like now.

-Speaking of celebrity candids, everyone’s captioning these photos as “Emma Stone without makeup.” Um, she’s clearly wearing a bit of lipstick and maybe even some mascara, but she doesn’t look like a drag queen so I guess that makes it news in Hollywood.

Dennis Quaid and his wife have changed their mind about getting divorced…again. Maybe next time they should just crack open a bottle of wine and avoid the legal fees.

-I’m not sure Canada needs its own version of The View, but yay for Lainey getting a talk show gig!

Lindsay Lohan‘s latest film, directed by the ShamWow guy (no, really!), is a box office disaster, earning a measly $625 per theatre.

Lindsay has reportedly worked it out so that she doesn’t have to start rehab until after Coachella. Aw crap. Is it too late to sell my tickets?

-Meanwhile, she was spotted enjoying some PDA with her new boyfriend in a bar (of course).

-CBC is streaming the new Charles Bradley album. (His first CD made Rolling Stone‘s top 50 list in 2011.) It’s possible that I listened to “Let Love Stand a Chance” a lot today. Like, a lot.

-I’m also digging Sia’s cover of the Kinks‘ “I Go To Sleep.”

-Just as we were all starting to wonder if there were any good men left, this happened.

Details magazine delved deeper into Dana Martin’s plot to kill Justin Bieber — and revealed that he still wants to finish the job.

-Want to watch Tilda Swinton sleep in a glass box? Now you can! My coworker stumbled upon it this weekend — as did Sarah Jessica Parker. (Unfortunately, I think Marina Abramović has ruined me for weird performance art. Did you see this video of her and her ex-boyfriend? Kills me every time…)

Lena Dunham wrote a really sappy essay about her dog, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Lena also directed a short entitled “Best Friends” (narrated by Girls‘ star Adam Driver!) for Rachel Antonoff’s Fall 2013 line. It’s basically a four-minute Noah Baumbach film. Or maybe Wes Anderson (who just made his own fashion films for Prada).

-I enjoyed this video of Ian Somerhalder playing dress-up with a cardboard cutout of Paul Wesley way too much.

-Speaking of great vids, there’s a reason this one-man acapella cover of “Thriller” is blowing up today. Amazingness!

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Kickstarter has almost hit $300k in just a couple of days (its goal was only $60k in 30 days). This ones a lot less controversial than the Veronica Mars campaign — these funds will go to creating two new series, as well as paying royalties for a cast an crew that haven’t really been paid (at least not well).

-Speaking of Kickstarter campaigns, I really liked the discussion during this NPR podcast about how the Veronica Mars campaign has led to a bit of fan entitlement. If/when supporters think they should have say in the plot, this thing goes off the rails.

-Meanwhile, Kristen Bell’s reaction video to the campaign was very cute.

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly opening a blowdry bar.

-The paparazzi caught Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner in some adorable family photos — just as a nasty tabloid report surfaced. I’m sure that was a total coincidence, though.

-Sweet! Seth Green is coming back to (live-action) TV. He’ll star in Seth MacFarlane’s new show.

Entertainment Weekly posted some pretty great Vines of stars getting slimed at this weekend’s Kids’ Choice Awards. There’s no way Sandra Bullock didn’t get a whole bunch of green stuff up her nose in that one shot. Gross.

Kristen Stewart and Katy Perry continued their BFF tour at the show. (KStew was spotted at a corner store with Robert Pattinson earlier that weekend, but she hit the red carpet solo.)

-Meanwhile, I love that Johnny Depp showed up. He almost always makes an appearance at the big fan-voted awards, which is great.

-A new, less-angsty trailer for Iron Man 3 debuted during the Kids’ Choice Awards this weekend.

-We also got a new trailer for World War Z, which focuses more on Brad Pitt and his family instead of just a wall of zombies.

Lea Michele Talks Boobs and Cory Monteith in Marie Claire

Lea Michele of Glee on the January 2013 cover of Marie Claire.

Lea Michele of Glee on the January 2013 cover of Marie Claire.

-Everyone’s talking about Lea Michele‘s breast comments in her new Marie Claire interview, but the big development is how she’s suddenly publicly gushing about boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith.

-That kid from The Wanted is still letting Lindsay Lohan hang around, for some reason. They were spotted at a hotel together after his Jingle Ball performance.

Busy Phillips announced her pregnancy by posting a photo of a pee stick on Twitter. Ugh. I thought only the people I went to high school with who I’ve guilt-friended on Facebook pulled stunts like that.

-Another day, another photo of Rihanna cuddling with Chris Brown.

-So Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and that guy from Great Big Sea walk into a bar…and then start singing Les Mis tunes.

-Speaking of, here’s more about the new song the movie added.

-As someone who listened to “Glycerine” on repeat through most of my high school years (what? I was angsty and had bad taste in music — it wasn’t a good combo), I appreciate this Gwen Stefani/Gavin Rossdale duet.

Lean Dunham and the guitarist from fun. got all PDA-y in Los Angeles on Sunday.

-I love this post about the 30 lessons we learned from Amy Poehler in 2012.

-Speaking of Amy, check out these Parks and Recreation bloopers. (I like that she uses any excuse to make out with Adam Scott – as evidenced at 11:40. Good woman.)

-Uh oh. Kristen Stewart‘s upcoming movie with Ben Affleck is a comedy. This can’t end well.

Taylor Swift chastely kissed Harry Styles on video and now the 1D fans are out for blood.

-Sadness: cartoon couple Ice T and Coco have hit a rough patch — and are airing it out on Twitter.

-Weird internet quirk of the day: when you Google Image search “dead grandparents” you get page after page of Christina Aguilera photos.

Abigail Breslin has turned into one tough little cookie.

-Have no fear, Canucks! It turns out we’re getting Arrested Development on Netflix at the same time as the States. So basically, everyone in North America will be calling in sick that day.

Eliza Dushku is returning to TV. As much as I loved her as Faith, I think Tru Calling and Dollhouse have already proven that she can’t carry a show, no?

-In other TV news, Jason Segel is ‘unlikely’ to sign for Season 9 of How I Met Your Mother. Good for him. He’s way beyond the show at this point, but he’s so nice I was starting to worry he’d get stuck there for fear of bumming anyone out.

-It looks like Demi Moore and Vito Schnabel have already split — possibly because she was acting too immature.

Beyonce’s good year continues: she just landed a $50 million deal with Pepsi.

-Here’s the first trailer for Will and Jaden Smith‘s new movie After Earth, which looked promising — until the part when “written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan” flashed on the screen.
